“To Be Rain”

There’s a release above

Supreme, stirring relief above—

Sky cracked wide open, and

Crying like when you think you’ll never stop

Faucet running, pitter-patter pouring, nurturing spill—

Outside got that purging feeling…

There is a purge in the air today

It roars loud—

Roaring and angry and sad

As I’ve been,

I let the storm in me

Out

I think it’s powerful to be rain,

To be a roaring storm—

Booming and cracking and raging

For your own kind of peace

And when you finally let go,

Open up, cry out—

Everyone feels it
