“Wash Away What Was”

I am the dancing flame at the altar

Wore green to the ocean, walked right in and rinsed

Off this debt that I’ve been settling in

I am one salty teardrop amongst waves

My own body, standing with this body,

Enjoying our similarities

This time I am safe to overflow and,

I don’t fear being too much

Home inside golden rays

Enveloped in good intentions

I walk out lighter

Knowing what, when, and how to sacrifice

Where to lay it all down to be reborn,

To dance and be light

Rinse and leave behind

What I wash away,

My magic says I can no longer carry
